神說：「水要多多滋生有生命的物，要有雀鳥飛在地面以上，天空之中。」神就造出大魚和水中所滋生各樣有生命的動物，各從其類。又造出各樣飛鳥，各從其類。神看著是好的。神就賜福給這一切，說：「滋生繁多，充滿海中的水；雀鳥也要多生在地上。」有晚上，有早晨，是第五日。(創1:20-23)

And God said, “Let the water teem with living creatures, and let birds fly above the earth across the expanse of the sky." So God created the great creatures of the sea and every living and moving thing with which the water teems, according to their kinds, and every winged bird according to its kind. And God saw that it was good. God blessed them and said, “Be fruitful and increase in number and fill the water in the seas, and let the birds increase on the earth." And there was evening, and there was morning-the fifth day.

 【第五日：魚鳥出現】

 在適合活物生存的「空間」都造好後，供應活物生命的「食物」都備妥後，神就在這一天「造」出「水中」的各樣魚類和「空中」的各樣飛鳥。在希伯來原文的這個「造」是「創造」(H1254)，表明在此之前「水中」沒有魚類，「空中」也沒有飛鳥。原文句中只用一個「創造」(H1254)，中文譯本卻用了兩個「造」字，英文譯本只用一個「創造」(created) ，與原文相同。

神在這裡首次「賜福」給「水中」的魚類和「空中」的飛鳥，使牠們都能「滋生繁多」。對「水中」的魚類是「充滿海中的水」，因為「海中」是牠們生存的空間，但對「空中」的飛鳥卻是「多生在地上」，而不是「充滿在地上」，因為「空中」才是牠們生存的空間，「地上」只是牠們安息的空間。況且將來神還要再「造」(H6213)各種「活物」在「地上」，最後還要「創造」(H1254) 「人」在「地上」，自然不能叫飛鳥「充滿在地上」。
